My First Thanksgiving

My cousin, Evan, and I spent our first Thanksgivings together. We were joined by my parents, his parents, his brothers, Alex and Tommy, and his sister, Ceci.

Thanksgiving was also my 2 month birthday. My Mom and I made cupcakes to celebrate! (I hear they were not as good as the shoefly pie we picked up in Amish Country or Ceci's pumpkin pie.)

My first big girl trip

This weekend I made my first big girl trip to NJ & NYC. My Mom & Dad attended a wedding and I was able to play at my Grandma & Grandpa's house. Above is a picture of me with my Grandpa.

I also made a trip to my future home in NYC where I met my Uncle Chris, Auntie Kettie, Auntie Annie and Ciocia Dorothy. (Sorry Auntie Annie, I don't have any pictures with you!)

Just Like Me

Don't make fun of Barack Obama
Because he's just like me
Please don't make fun of Barack Obama
Because he's just like me

Me and Barack we have parents
with different skin degrees
My mom's a Pole
Her name is Dorothy
My dad's an Indian
His name's Ariz
Barack's Dad he's from Kenya
My dad's roots are from India
Both our moms are really white
That's what makes our skin kind of light

I like curry on my kielbasa
I like my pierogis with saag paneer
Pass the kapusta with some chana masala
Give me a paratha so long as it's with a rogala

Please don't make fun of Barack Obama
Because he's just like me

Barack is moving to my birth city
We even live on the same DC street
Barack's home is at 1600 and I'm just 10 blocks east
The neighborhood--it's really neat
And there's lots of good places to eat
my favorite is the ice cream and that's right on E
and don't forget the Indian that's right on D

Don't make fun of Barack Obama
Because he's just like me
Please don't make fun of Barack Obama
Because he's just like me

Oh Barack I hate to leave this great city
But my parents say it's best for me
I'll be moving closer to our family
to a place called NYC
I wish you all the best with your presidency
And please take care of my first home, Washington DC
